How StratusGreen Helped Trillium Engineering Transform Their NetSuite Experience
Building Trust Beyond Business
When Carly McFarland, CFO of Trillium Engineering, reflects on her first encounter with StratusGreen at SuiteWorld 2021, one thing stands out: “We first built a relationship with them outside of work,” she recalls. That initial connection laid the foundation for a successful partnership.
Trillium’s journey with NetSuite, however, had a rocky start. “When employees started using it, they felt really disorganized,” shared Beth Alcouloumre, Trillium’s Senior Business Systems Analyst explains. “There wasn’t a lot of support or extra help provided by our prior NetSuite consultant.”
At SuiteWorld, StratusGreen hosted a lively networking event where attendees could relax and connect after a day of educational sessions. It was here that Trillium and StratusGreen found instant synergy. “They were fun, friendly, understood NetSuite, and understood what Trillium needed from an ERP,” said Carly.

In 2021, a leading middle-market private equity firm partnered with Trillium’s founders and employees to fuel the next phase of growth. This capital influx created the need for a more robust and efficient ERP system.
Beth Alcouloumre, Senior NetSuite Business Systems Analyst at Trillium, was tasked with upgrading the company’s ERP to support its growth. The previous system was a basic starter platform that had become outdated as Trillium scaled.
“The existing system had very limited capabilities, required a lot of fumbling to make processes work, and didn’t track workflows,” Beth explained. “Trillium had graduated beyond its ERP’s capabilities.”
Beth reviewed 38 different systems before narrowing them down to eight contenders. Ultimately, the team unanimously chose NetSuite for its integration capabilities, customizability, and ease of use.
“As an administrator, NetSuite stood out because of its integration capabilities and ability to configure and generate reports that pull from different tables,” Beth said. Others were impressed by its supply chain features and overall functionality.
